We provide a range of services aimed at the owners or buyers of historic or traditionally constructed property. Whilst Listed Building Surveys are at the core of our business, our planning permission and architectural services will help you to effectively develop, maintain and repair your building. We are a family business providing bespoke, cost-effective solutions to help you make well-informed decisions. We operate throughout North and Mid Wales, parts of the Midlands, the North-West of England and London.

Tim Nicholson - Surveyor and Managing Consultant

Tim has worked as an independent Building Surveyor since 2004, in the past he has also managed a successful building conservation company.

With extensive field experience and high-level academic training, Tim has built a reputation as a diligent and respected historic building surveyor providing high-quality information to a variety of clients. Approachable and an excellent communicator, Tim delivers sensible, pragmatic solutions and is an accomplished technical writer able to present complex topics in a concise and accessible manner, giving clients the information and confidence to make the right decisions.

Peter Jones-Hughes - Historic Environment Planning Consultant

Peter is a specialist planning practitioner with extensive experience and expertise in planning, building conservation, urban design and regeneration. Peter has an in-depth knowledge of historic environment legislation and guidance, having spent more than thirty years working for various Local Authorities as a senior Planning Officer and Principal Conservation Officer. He has an intimate knowledge of Planning Authority procedures and functions and is a seasoned speaker at planning meetings and appeals

Lizzie Nicholson-Jones – Assistant Surveyor and CAD Specialist

Lizzie has a broad range of skills and has developed many of the protocols that we use in surveying and inspection.

A good communicator with a background in education, Lizzie is likely to be your first point of contact and is responsible for the preparation of survey and planning drawings, and photorealistic renderings.

Onsite Lizzie undertakes all of the photographic recording, measured surveys and assists with most of our Surveying.

Cathy Owen – Architectural Technician

Cathy has more than 15 years’ experience working within various architectural practises and as a freelance architectural designer. During her time working on a number of important projects involving historic buildings, Cathy has amassed a wealth of technical and design knowledge which enables us to provide appropriate, well-considered designs for alterations and extensions to listed, traditionally constructed and historic buildings.

In addition to sketch proposals, Cathy produces detailed construction drawings and ensures all specifications are compliant with current building regulations where required.
