C16 Grade II* Timber Frame Property

C16 Grade II* Timber Frame Property

An Impressive grade II* late C16 property Located in ten acres in the heart of Cheshire notable for its high quality timber framing externally and internally and mentioned in Pevsners Buildings of England Series. Timber framing of this type tells us that the house was originally built for someone of substantial means who was prepared to spend money embellishing the timber frame with various decorative motifs. Internally the property has a number of interesting features including a rare beaten earth floor in the roof space, this type of construction is similar to the daub used in the panels and is said to have included ox blood to seal the surface.

Listed Building Survey undertaken on behalf of a private client.
