Just before the UK went into ‘Lockdown’ NPA were delighted to receive an instruction to inspect this fascinating Grade II* Listed former farmhouse in rural Monmouthshire.
Although altered and extended during the nineteenth century this property retains the general proportions and appearance of a C17 South Walian farmhouse as well as a number of outstanding architectural elements. The arched and scalloped head doors are particularly noteworthy as are the panelled screen along the cross passage and the enormous chamfered ceiling beams. Bats are common in this type of property and the attic rooms in this building are home to no less than four different species.
